Ascent

Oct. 21 - Nov. 21, 2005
Gallery Mazerolle
384 Queen St., Fredericton, NB

After planting Seminal at the Lieutenant Governor's House, the Emerge group continues to grow with the invitation by Marilyn Mazerolle (established community artist and gallery owner) to put on this year's big Mazerolle show Ascent (the act or process of rising or going upward; an advancement, especially in social status...)

Mazerolle's unique style and tree paintings drew the group in immediately. It was another great opportunity for Emerge to put on an exhibition along side the gallery owner. Opening night brought together many appreciated new and old faces to the show. The audience was treated to music, wine, a mound of cheese from which grew a wire tree (sculpted by Mark Cameron with cheese cubes stuck on to each branch), other foods and, of course, a good dose of artwork.
