Joss Richer

Joss Richer was born in Montreal in 1960. He is currently employed by the University of New Brunswick where he collaborates with profs on the development of online courses. He holds graduate degrees in chemistry with a specialty in materials science. He put himself through school working in construction for the family business.

Over the past ten years, Joss has taken advantage of the many opportunities Fredericton offers to budding artists, taking classes from the NB College of Craft & Design, the University of New Brunswick and Saint Thomas University, as well as workshops from professional artists. As a sculptor, he draws from his theoretical knowledge and manual experience with a wide range of materials. He favors a semi-figurative approach to sculpture and drawing, with a strong emphasis on texture and aesthetics.

Joss has been a member of Emerge since 2005. His work is held in private and corporate collections in Canada and the United States.
