We are a collective dedicated to facilitating the exposure
of emerging artists and craftspeople.
Through shared knowledge and experience, we develop an awareness
of the intricacies involved in the exhibition process. We strive
to ease the transition between the creation of the work of
art and its exhibition to the art community and the public.
Emerge is the brainchild of founding members Adam Clowater, Janet Miller, Silas Robinson and Mark Stokoe, who dreamed up the concept in 2004 and took decisive action.
Becoming a Member of Emerge (juried process)
Every year in February, the Emerge jury gathers to evaluate
applications from artists in the Fredericton area wishing to
join the collective. If you are interested in joining us, please
e-mail 5 to 10 high-resolution photos to emergejurying @ gmail.com before
February 1st, along with your contact information.
Also, please send
- a biography,
- an artist statement,
- and a short
statement explaining
why you wish to join Emerge.
The
jury usually renders its decision by March 1st.
